The True Meaning of Color

Color is a language that speaks to our bodies, memories, and how we connect with one another. The True Meaning of Color is inspired by the idea of coloring being more than something we just see. Each piece has its own connection and feeling towards each of us individually.

In my work I use acrylic paint and spray cans on canvas. For my faces my process includes choosing key face features and layering on thick acrylic brush strokes and finishing with an abstract spray paint touch. I use faces of my friends and family not for exact likenesses but to carry a story for each of them. Each piece is a study in how color can feel bright, soft, joyful, or tense, all at once.

In my monochromatic works I experiment with color harmony by layering a wide range of hues, tints and shades with spray paint. By keeping the paintings monochromatic I challenge each viewer to

Color is both universal and deeply personal. It can hide or reveal, amplify a mood, or soften it into something more mysterious. The paintings invite you to step in, feel the rhythm of pigment, and reflect on how your own feelings color the people around you. These works ask you to consider how color shapes emotion and identity. Although color may be viewed similarly by the eye, its true meaning is something each person must discover on their own.
